At Groundsea, our average daily caloric count is about 1500 calories. As we craft a mainly a ovo-vegetarian program, we use whole grains, beans, legumes, and seeds to supply the main source of protein in the daily diet; but we also supply a wide variety of essential proteins and fiber. Our meals are balanced, low in salt & sugar, with a special attention to the good fats needed to fuel an active body and mind—but all done with minimal adulteration from their original form in nature. Our varied menu features natural and organic foods, locally-grown fruits, vegetables & herbs, some fermented foods to help our internal biome, house-made dressings and house-made soups. On a daily basis, we happily provide house-made nut milks and house-made coconut milk.

We will sometimes supply, as an option, homemade bone broth from grass-fed, pasture raised animals for the purpose of supplying more nutrients and collagen protein for the health of some of our guests. While this is not vegetarian fare, we strongly find important value in supplying this healthy, wholesome and premium locally-sourced supplement that can “fill in the gap” for our guests who choose to partake.

Our overall Program utilizes meal principles derived from Low Carb, Paleo, Primal and Intermittent Fasting ideologies that, when coupled with our fitness regimen, will increase one’s metabolism, and supercharge their circulatory, digestive, excretory and immune systems.

All possible effort is made to accommodate clients with specific dietary and/or allergenic needs—and communication with concerned parties is happily provided prior to attendance. Additionally, guests are required to submit dietary informational from a Wellness Questionnaire prior to the start of the retreat so that any and all pertinent culinary issues are disclosed and managed for the safety and satisfaction of all involved.
